August 6, 2007 To my friends and brothers, and sisters, Greetings! The past year has been a good one for me and my family. My grown sons and their families are mostly well at this writing, ‘though my son Robert had a heart attack and has experienced acute kidney failure in recent months. He is responding to treatment, but we will appreciate your prayers for him and his family. My son, Mike was diagnosed with diabetes recently, but is under medication and doing well now. My younger children Andrew (20) , Thomas (14) and Juana (12) are well,. Andrew is interning at First National Bank this summer before his junior year at Wofford. Thomas is hoping to play football on the C Team at Eastside High School. Juana had a fine time at Camp Greenville last month; she is doing better and better. I had a great year hunting, completing my Wild Turkey World Slam by shooting an ocellated turkey in Guatemala. I was also fortunate to take Bongo and other elusive animals in West Africa in May. I traveled to Cambodia on a mission trip with Don Preston and Campus Crusade in January, and I hope to go back there next year. Our extended family took a Mediterranean cruise in June . . . it was great to get the children and grandchildren together! Whew! Time to settle back and catch my breath? Not really . . .
